Bridge of Hope Home Bridge of Hope Home

In 1965, when the Bay Area Rescue Mission was established, it seemed like there was only a handful of homeless people in need in the Bay Area. Yet today there are more than 100,000 homeless people on the streets; 60 percent of whom are women, children and families.

Since our founding we have effectively offered hope and help to the homeless and impoverished by providing meals, shelter, recovery programs, education, job skills training and transitional living ... all in a charitable Christian atmosphere.

However, our hearts are broken when we remember the words of Jesus when He said, "Suffer the little children and forbid them not..." Yes, our hearts break because every night we have to turn away homeless women, children and families because we do not have enough room for them.

This is why we have fashioned this visionary campaign. For we believe that future generation cannot be left hopeless and living in great despair.

The Bridge of Hope campaign will rescue the most vulnerable segment of our society (homeless women, children and families), while empowering them to succeed. This is a noble undertaking and one in which we trust you will want to be involved.

Thank you for taking the time to carefully and prayerfully consider this proposal. We look forward to partnering with you so that together we can offer these precious individuals a Bridge of Hope toward a Brighter Tomorrow!

Sincerely

Rev. and Mrs. John M. Anderson
Directors, Bay Area Rescue Mission
